NCIRS conducts varied research and surveillance activities in a numerous areas including

  • Analysis and reporting on the Australian Childhood Immunisation Registrar (ACIR)
  • Analysis and reporting of AEFI and providing clinical support for the provision of vaccines to children with adverse events following immunisation

  • Technical support for ATAGI and DoHA
  • Provision of updates for the 9th Edition of The Australian Immunisation Handbook
  • Coordinate the development of the 10th Edition of the Australian Immunisation Handbook
