The Dystrophy & Membrane Repair Team

> Associate Professor Sandra Cooper, Dystrophy & Mebrane Repair Group Leader

Sandra's primary research focus is understanding the role of dysferlin and membrane repair in muscular dystrophy. Her research team is uncovering cellular mechanisms that are important for cell survival, and this research has implications in stroke, surgery and injury, as well as muscular diseases. By combining powerful microscopy techniques and cell biology analyses, she is aiming to develop new treatments or adapt existing therapies to help children with muscular dystrophy.
