Vision & Mission
The vision of the Kids Research Institute is to be a world-leading centre for paediatric translational research.
The mission of the Kids Research Institute is to improve children’s health outcomes and drive excellence in paediatric health.
We do this by discovering new insights into childhood diseases, and developing better diagnostic methods and treatments. Our clinical research and clinical trials are important vehicles for identifying treatments that are safe and effective, and a large part of our work.
Translation of our world's best research into clinical practice within the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network and community is our ultimate goal. We collaborate at the local, national and international level to improve children’s health, locally and globally.
Our Strategic Plan
The Kids Research Institute and The Children's Hospital at Westmead is part of The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, together with the Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick, Bear Cottage, the Newborn and paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS), the Pregnancy and newborn Services Network (PSN) and the Children's Court Clinic.
The Kids Research Institute falls within the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network Research Strategic Plan, which identifies research priorities and strategic development for research across the Network.
