Bupa Emerging Health Researcher Award now open to nominations!
Calling all early career researchers!
The Bupa Health Foundation aims to not only support research through funding and partnerships, but also to develop the capabilities, skills and networks of researchers to improve the translation of their findings so as to have real impact on health and care.
The Bupa Health Foundation is seeking nominations for its 2019 Emerging Health Research Award. This is the eighth year of the award and offered once a year, it recognises the valuable contribution early career researchers (no more than 5 years post PhD) make toward improving health outcomes for all Australians. The $25,000 award is open to all disciplines of health and medical research with a particular focus on those incorporating translation into their work.
To be eligible, nominated researchers must meet the following criteria:
- An early career researcher - anytime from qualification but no more than 5 years past PhD or research higher degree. (Exceptions will be granted for career disruption due to carer’s responsibilities, illness, or disability.)
- An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Currently engaged in applied research activities that align with the focus of the Bupa Health Foundation.
Who can nominate?
Nominations must be completed by research supervisors and/or department heads who are directly involved in the work of the researcher. Organisational approval of nominations is required.
What are we looking for in a nomination?
Nominations should clearly detail information about the Emerging Researcher, their area of interest, an overview of their research area and its potential impact on the health of Australians.
Submissions close - 9am Monday 15th July 2019 (AEST)
