A/Prof Catchpoole to lead global biobanking organisation
Associate Professor Dan Catchpoole, Head of the Tumour Bank in the Children's Cancer Research Unit , has been elected by his peers as the new President-Elect on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER).
In the new role he will undertake a number of executive responsibilities as well as assisting to guide the strategic goals and direction of ISBER, which aims to create opportunities for networking, education, and innovations and harmonises approaches to evolving challenges in biological and environmental repositories.
ISBER fosters collaboration; creates education and training opportunities; provides a forum for the dissemination of state-of-the-art policies, processes, and research findings; and provides an international showcase for innovative technologies, products, and services. Previously the Director-At-Large for the Indo-Pacific Rim on the ISBER Board, A/Prof Catchpoole has been an active leader and global champion for collaboration in this space, and will further his contributions to the global research community in this role as President.
